Ending Chapter (Route B1)

+8B1-1 The Present, the Square

<Homunculus>
Looks like it's over, doesn't it? Good job.

<Eike>
...I...I was trying to change my destiny...

<Homunculus>
And you did.

<Eike>
But — was it all for you? You used me... To make sure that you would be created, that no one would rewrite that part —

<Homunculus>
Oh?

Eike continues, paying no attention to Homunculus.

<Eike>
— and in doing that, I changed other people's lives. Is my own fate...worth that much? Is yours...?
So... How am I supposed to feel...?

<Homunculus>
Oh please, enough with the angst.
Is that your idea of forcing a guilt trip? I mean, who cares? Yes, you managed to preserve my destiny — if you'd been killed, I would never have been born. Immortality has its perks, but you have to exist first.

Eike looks away.

<Eike>
...damn it, I don't believe this... So I was just being used, after all.

Homunculus turns towards Eike once again.

<Homunculus>
Oh, by the way, I need the (Item) back...

<Eike>
Here, it's yours.

Eike returns the (Item) to Homunculus

<Homunculus>
Time for me to go...
I suppose we won't be seeing each other again. In all likelihood...

Homunculus vanishes.

8B3-2 Ending 4

8B3-3 The Laboratory, around 14:00 March 13,1584

<Homunculus>
Whew... How many centuries has it been since I was last out?

To Wagner:

<Homunculus>
Are you my so-called master this time around?

<Wagner>
What the...?

<Homunculus>
What yourself. You're the one who broke the seal.So? What's your big wish?
Immortality and eternal youth? Be a millionaire? Name it and it's yours.

<Wagner>
What is this...! What lunacy...

<Homunculus>
But of course, your soul's mine when you end up dead on arrival.
Until then, you can do whatever you like.
Come on, name your wish.

Wagner bows his head.

<Wagner>
For what... For this, I...

<Homunculus>
Huh? What did you say? Didn't catch that.

<Wagner>
Was my research in vain? Was I wrong, after all these years given to my task...?
Helena... Forgive me...

<Homunculus>
Hurry up, will you?

A pause.
Wagner turns to Homunculus with a set face.

<Wagner>
Make me young again. I want to start my life over.
And if possible, let me stay that age...

<Homunculus>
Nothing easier. Hold on.

Wagner, wreathed in smoke, says with sudden recollection:

<Wagner>
That young man the other day —
I envied him his youth..

Wagner is young again.
(But until he looks at himself in the mirror at the end of this scene, he cannot be clearly seen due to the thick smoke surrounding him.)
After a while:

<Wagner>
Am I — Did it really work?

Homunculus responds carelessly, not even looking in Wagner's direction.

<Homunculus>
Trust me, all right? You're exactly what you wanted to be.

<Wagner>
Then your work here is done. I will send you back, demon.

Wagner begins to intone a spell, and the smoke clears only from the area of the now-glowing hexagram drawn on the floor.

<Homunculus>
Damn! A hex!

Wagner is still casting the spell.

<Wagner>
It is no great art to dispose of the likes of you... But I was well-advised to ready an additional barrier.
Return to the stone from whence you came!! And I will start my research — and my life — from the beginning.

Homunculus, gasping.

<Homunculus>
You — you!! Damn it, you won't get away with this...
No hex is completely — I — I will wipe your mind of memories... Be damned... to the endless night of youth...

Homunculus, struggling, casts a spell on Wagner.
Homunculus' midsection glows, and his entire body is drawn into that single spot to yield the red stone.

<Wagner>
Aaa!!
Ahhh....

The smoke gradually dissipates to reveal a young man standing in the middle of the room.
Closeup of the young man as he looks at his own face reflected in the fragment of the broken flask (a substitute mirror). It is Eike's face.

<Wagner>
Where am...?

The red stone rests on the ground where Homunculus last stood.

<Wagner>
Beautiful... stone...

The man picks up the red stone.
He wanders out of the room shortly afterwards.
